If you’re looking to adopt an animal soon, you’re probably already thinking about the name you’re going to give it. To give you ideas or to avoid the most common first names, here are the most given names for cats and dogs in 2023.
If you have to choose a first name for a cat or dog, you generally have to follow one rule: the letter assigned to each year. While this is mainly about purebred animals, others still follow this rule to find a name for their furry companion. Obviously, this is not mandatory.

Pet insurance comparator Animaux-relax has established a list of the most awarded for men and women. To do this, a survey was conducted among 5,356 dogs and 5,025 cats registered by insurance companies from January 1 to August 8, 2023.
