Italy confronts the Omigron wave and extends the vaccine pass and alters isolation

These measures will come into effect from January 10, in accordance with the mandate-law “Introduction of emergency measures to control the spread of Govt-19 epidemic” adopted during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Mario Draghi.

Until now, to travel by train and plane, it was enough to have a “basic” health pass that could be obtained through the vaccine, but only through a negative test.

The so-called “fortified health pass” vaccine in Italy is obtained only during the complete vaccination cycle or after recovery from covid disease.

In Italy, vaccination passes are currently required for certain professional categories, such as health workers and law enforcement personnel.

The government on Wednesday also decided to remove the ten-day isolation for Govt vaccine or cured contact cases. Those who have not been vaccinated should continue to respect the ten-day isolation.

This relaxation of the segregation rules is aimed at preventing the paralysis of certain sectors, such as transportation, where, for example, many trains are canceled due to the isolation of large numbers of staff.

Finally, sports envelopes are subject to measurements: 35% for enclosed enclosures and 50% for outdoor enclosures.

Like its European neighbors, Italy is currently facing a significant resurgence of epidemics. Nearly 100,000 new cases (98,020) were registered on Wednesday, and more than 600,000 people are currently positive.
