This Thursday will be the second day that King Charles and his wife have visited France for the first time. The sovereign couple stayed in Paris for a tour of the Grand Dukes of Paris.
Charles III visits the Senate, one of France’s two chambers of parliament. When he arrived in the Senate, the king was praised at length. And to everyone’s surprise, in front of all the members of parliament, he delivered part of his speech in flawless French. He proposed a new deal on climate. “We must work together to protect the world from this existential challenge, the greatest challenge of all: global warming, climate change and the catastrophic destruction of nature.”Confirmed by the King of England.
A tour of Paris in general
At noon, the Sovereigns went to Saint-Denis to meet the students there. The city, a suburb of Paris, will host many of the events of next year’s 2024 Olympic Games.
Camilla had to face 19-year-old Prithika Bhavade in table tennis: she is the 2020 European under-21 champion. She was the first woman to play against the then queen consort.
Charles III also met Nasser Al Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain: the latter presented him with a football team jersey bearing his name.

Charles III and Camilla visited the flower market on the Île de la Cité and for good reason it’s called Queen Elizabeth II!
They were presented with a bouquet of flowers before heading to Bordeaux: this would be the last stop on the state tour.
