Trump reportedly pressured Arizona governor after 2020 election | the world

After his election loss in November 2020, former US President Donald Trump reportedly pressured the then-Governor of Arizona in a phone conversation to invalidate the election results in his state.

During this late 2020 interview, Donald Trump asked Republican Governor Doug Ducey to do something about the former president’s defeat and change the outcome of the election. The former White House tenant has also asked his Vice President, Mike Pence, to pressure the governor, the Washington Post continues. Mike Pence would call Doug Ducey several times after that, but wouldn’t follow his boss’s instructions.

Last summer, the Republican Speaker of the Lower House of Arizona, Russell Bowers, had already explained before the investigative commission of the US House of Representatives in Washington that he was pressured by the group of Donald Trump after the 2020 election. Georgia’s Secretary of the Interior, for his part, was urged by the then-President during a phone call to “find” him votes. A recording of this conversation was later leaked to the media.

To this day, Donald Trump continues to claim that fraud prevented him from being re-elected. For weeks, he tried in various ways to influence the outcome of the election, which was won by his rival, Democrat Joe Biden. The 77-year-old billionaire wants to run for president next year for the Republican camp.
