The Powerball jackpot swelled to an estimated $975 million after there were no jackpot winners on Saturday

Saturday's Powerball jackpot was estimated at $935 million, with a one-time payout of about $452.3 million.


With no one winning Saturday's Powerball jackpot, the jackpot in Monday's drawing approached the $1 billion mark, according to the lottery.

The winning numbers on Saturday were: 33, 13, 50, 12, 52 with 23 Powerball balls.

The estimated $975 million Powerball jackpot jumped Monday from $935 million after no tickets matched all six numbers in Saturday night's drawing.

The jackpot winner in Monday's drawing can choose to receive the money in annual payments or receive a lump sum of $471.7 million.

Although no jackpot was won in Saturday's drawing, four tickets won $1 million each by matching the first five numbers. These tickets were sold in Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania, according to Powerball website.

The Powerball jackpot was last won in January, when a ticket in Michigan won the $842.4 million jackpot. Since then, there have been 38 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, he said Arsenal.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per game and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM ET in Tallahassee, Florida.
