Steve Bannon has a date in jail

Donald Trump’s former White House adviser Steve Bannon will be sentenced to four months in prison on July 1. Federal Judge Carl Nichols ordered the decision Thursday.

In October 2022, Steve Bannon was charged with obstructing congressional investigative powers for refusing to cooperate with a parliamentary inquiry into the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. A four-month prison sentence was upheld on appeal in May. 10, 2024. During his trial, it was noted that Steve Bannon spoke on the phone with Donald Trump on the day of the invasion of the Capitol.

Appeal of suspension by guardian

The application of the sentence was suspended due to a defense appeal, but Judge Carl Nichols lifted the suspension at the request of the prosecution and ordered the 70-year-old defendant to appear in court on July 1.

Steve Bannon is not alone in this situation. Peter Navarro, another former adviser to Donald Trump in the White House, was sentenced to four months in prison for the same facts. He has already started serving his sentence in March 2024 and is expected to be released next July.
