Reaction from Ohio State players, staff and others is pouring in on social media as OSU gets the help it needs to make the college football playoff game.

Saturday’s slate of conference championships didn’t even begin before Ohio State felt confident it would hear its name as a participant in the College Football Playoff game on Sunday.

Utah defeated USC 47-24 in the Pac-12 Championship Friday night, giving the Trojans their second loss of the season. This potentially opens the door for OSU, ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings this week, to overtake No. 4 USC and earn a College Football berth.

Before Utah coach Kyle Whittingham left the set of the FOX post-game show, Urban Meyer told him, “I felt, Kyle, in Columbus, Ohio, that you wouldn’t have to pay for a meal for a while.”

Whittingham responded with “Coach’s Day, you’re welcome”.

Utah’s victory set social media ablaze, with Ohio State players, football staffers, and former Buckeyes tweeting their thoughts on the prospect of making the Buckeyes a CFP after losing it a year ago.

We’ve compiled a selection of their reactions below.

A few Ohio State commitments also participated in the action.
