Rape accused Trump confuses his alleged victim with his ex-wife in a photo

76 year old Mr. Trump, 79-year-old E. Jean Carroll is scheduled to appear in a New York court on April 10, 2023, in a defamation lawsuit alleging she sexually assaulted him in a dressing room in a New York department. Save for 1995 or 1996.

Billionaire businessman and Republican President Donald Trump, 76, in 2017, is suing Ms Carroll, a former Elle columnist, for defamation and rape in a federal judge in Manhattan from 2019 to 2022.

Both were sworn in last October.

During his Oct. 19 testimony via video link — made public this week — Donald Trump reaffirmed his line of defense: “I’ll say this with the utmost respect: First of all, she’s not my type; and then it never happened.”

But when shown a photo of himself with Ms Carroll at a reception in the 1990s, he replied: ‘That’s Marla, that’s my wife,’ his own lawyer, Alina Hubba, corrected him.

Donald Trump was married to actress Marla Maples, 59, from 1993 to 1999 and met his current wife Melania in 1998.

In defamation case, E. Jean Carroll sued Trump in November 2019. She accused him of defaming her in June of that year, calling her rape allegations “absolutely false”.

Ms. Carroll, a White House tenant at the time, always responded that she was “not his type of woman,” and her lawyers said she was protected by immunity as head of state in 2019.

As for the rape allegations, in 2019, Ms. Carroll was unable to file a complaint since the alleged facts were suggested.

However, on November 24, 2022, New York State law went into effect (“Adult Survivors Act”) allowing sexual assault victims to reopen their civil legal action for one year.
