Peter King predicts Jimmy Garoppolo will replace the 49 players QP Tree Lanes by week seven

Tre Lance is the quarterback for the 49ers, and Jimmy Garoppolo is his backup.

That’s a fact, but NBC Sports’ Peter King thinks it might not last long.

In King’s Sunday column “Football Morning in America” Expect Garoppolo to take over Lance is under position in the 49ers’ week seven game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I guess I don’t want to be a negative intent here,” King wrote. “I really don’t hate the San Francisco Convention to bring back Jimmy Garoppolo.”

Garoppolo He agreed to cut wages And sitting behind Lance in the 49ers’ QB depth chart after the team couldn’t trade it, created an interesting dynamic with two talented callers on the roster. The husband in question, however, mentioned How excited are they To return to team meetings and practice together.

Lance has yet to establish himself in the NFL as he approaches his first season as a start and second in the league. However, his mind, arm strength, and overall athleticism make the faithful 49ers eager to see what he can achieve.

On the other hand, Garoppolo saw plenty of success during his QB1 stint in San Francisco, leading the team’s 49ers to two NFC title games and Super Bowl appearances in just the past three seasons.

But the writing was on the wall the moment the team drafted Lance’s No. 3 overall in 2021, and coach Kyle Shanahan officially named the 22-year-old this summer. While there is sure to be a learning curve, King doesn’t think the 49ers or his teammates will have more than six weeks of patience.

“But in the midst of all the cumbayas coming out of Oh, it’s cool we’ve re-signed Jimmy Lovefest, I’m wondering one thing: This is a veteran team that battled Jimmy Garoppolo late last season and watched the Rams defeat in [Week] 18, then watched him as a QB win the playoff games in Dallas and Green Bay.

“How would George Keitel, Fred Warner, Eric Armstead and Debow Samuel, all good players on the squad, react in private if Tre Lance struggled in the first month of the season? Would the Niners’ leadership board go to Kyle Shanahan and say, ‘Come on. Win these matches?

Kittle, Warner, Armstead and Samuel all sang the praises of the Lance throughout the holiday, along with countless other members of the 49ers roster, front office, and coaching staff. They all know for sure that a first year freshman will run into some problems along the way throughout the year.

Kettle even Has vowed to “bang” Lance Through any seasonal disturbance.

But King begs the question: “What if?”

In football, anything is possible. If any potential problems for the Lance persist throughout the season, the 49ers have a Super Bowl-caliber roster ready to win the sixth Vince Lombardi Cup of the franchise, and a call for Garoppolo is out of the question.

But prove to Lance Capable of blocking any external noise Throughout his short time in the league.

His first real chance to silence any skeptics will come in less than a week when the 49ers open the regular season against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sept. 11 with Lance starting under center.
