UpdateA woman was killed and at least thirteen others injured in a car attack in Ra'anana (center) on Monday, emergency services and Israeli police announced. Two Palestinians were arrested.
Israeli police chief Gobi Shabtai explained to journalists at the site that “the two attackers were relatives, residents of the (Palestinian) territories, who came to the scene of the attack illegally.” According to a police spokesman, they live in Hebron in the occupied West Bank and are suspected of stealing a car before hitting passers-by in several places in this suburb of Tel Aviv.
Meer Hospital in Kfar Saba said, “An injured woman, who was admitted in a critical condition, died despite resuscitation efforts.” Emergency services, for their part, reported at least thirteen people injured, including at least two in a critical condition.

Tensions in Israel and the Palestinian territories have risen a notch since the unprecedented October 7 attack by Hamas in southern Israel that killed 1,140 people, according to an AFP tally based on data from Israeli officials. In response, Israel vowed to destroy Hamas, which has been in power in Gaza since 2007. More than 24,000 people have died in the conflict in the Gaza Strip, mainly women, adolescents and children, according to a recent report by the ministry. Israel as a “terrorist organization” by the United States and the European Union.
