Comedian and Golden Globes host Joe Coy responded to the critical response he received the first time he hosted the ceremony.
During his opening monologue, Coy appeared nervous but tried to lighten the mood by referencing Swift's highly publicized displays of support for her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? “At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift…there's more to talk about here.”
When the camera panned to a close-up of Swift, she could be seen pursing her lips before taking a sip of her drink, an icy expression on her face.
Talking to GMA3 The morning after the concert, Coy said of his hosting experience: “I had fun. You know, it was a moment I'll always remember. It's a tough room. It was a tough job, and I'm not going to lie… I had a bad night!
The GMA3 presenter assumed that Coy seemed “deflated”, to which he replied: “Yes, I wanted to give more of me and of me.” [fell] In short, that's it.”
He added: “I would be lying then.” [I said] It doesn't hurt…hosting is just a tough job. Yes, I'm a stand-up comedian, but this hosting position has a different style.

When asked if there was a specific moment when he felt bad, Coy replied: “I think it was when he was Taylor [Swift] One of them was a little flat… I think it was a weird joke. But it was more on the NFL…
“I was trying to make fun of the NFL with the cutaways and how the Globes didn't have to do that. So it was kind of a swipe at the NFL. But it didn't come out that way.”

Coy also discussed the moment with Entertainment tonight“Oh, man, that was nice,” he said. I was just saying it was nice. I was just saying it's less complicated, that's all.
Swift was in attendance at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 7, where her film was screened Taylor Swift: Tour for the Ages It was among the nominated works.
Her lukewarm reaction to Coy's joke went unnoticed by viewers, who took to social media to discuss the awkward moment.
“Taylor Swift is not enjoying Jo Koi, she's actually just like the rest of us!” one fan joked, referring to Coy's rocky start at the Golden Globes.
TV presenter Piers Morgan said in a tweet: “If Taylor Swift's death glares could actually kill, Joe Coy would be dead by now.”
