Jeremy Renner uses a cane while hosting on “Jimmy Kimmel” – Variety

Jeremy Renner made his first appearance on Late Night since the snow plow accident Monday night, guesting on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” To discuss the shocking incident and the upcoming Disney+ series, “Rennervations.”

Renner was greeted with a standing ovation by the talk show audience, and climbed onto the stage with the help of a cane. With a huge smile on his face, the actor performed a small dance before taking his seat.

“If there was ever a question about who is the toughest Avenger, it’s now been resolved, right?” Kimmel asked. Renner quickly shuts him down, replying, “Scarlett Johansson.”

Renner gave a detailed account of his incident in an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer last week. Renner explained that he and his 27-year-old nephew were trying to pull a Ford Raptor out of the snow with a snow plow. After his nephew came out to hitch the two cars, the snow plow started sliding on the snow. Renner lost his footing when he got off the plow to look at his nephew, but he neglected to set the parking brake. Attempting to re-enter the car, Renner is run over.

“I’ve been lucky in so many ways. I’m happy to be here,” Renner told Kimmel.

The actor gave a shout out to his mother and the rest of his family, who joined the “Kimmel” crowd. Renner also shared a video that fellow Avengers cast member Paul Rudd sent him while he was recovering in intensive care.
