according to the peoplewho first reported the news, West first listed the sprawling home — which features views of the Pacific Ocean from every room — two years ago for $57 million.
However, it appears he’s willing to part with the property for a little less, as the oceanfront mansion is now listed for $53 million.
“The interior finishes have been removed, and this creates an incredibly rare opportunity to purchase a Picasso painting on the water with the ability to restore it to your own standards, with modern technology and excellence,” Oppenheim tells ET.
The grand estate – designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando – has 4,000 square feet of interior space, plus 1,500 square feet of outdoor space, in one of the most exclusive and picturesque areas in the country.
According to Oppenheim, the property’s lower asking price reflects the cost of replacing the home’s interiors, which West removed during his short ownership.
Meanwhile, lead architect Ando is probably best known – at least recently – for being the creative mind behind A $200 million estate was recently purchased by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The 30,000-square-foot home — in an area known as Billionaire’s Row — took 15 years to build, has 30,000 square feet of living space, and is made almost entirely of concrete. He also holds the record for the most expensive home purchase in California history.
