Israel TV has released a new photo of one of the Hamas leaders, Mohamed Tayeb. The latter, the last known photograph of which dates from 1989, is one of Israel's main targets.
The image shows a bespectacled man with one eye covered in a jungle-like appearance. No one has the slightest idea what Mohammed Taif would look like today. There are only two pictures of him, the last one in 1989, when he was in prison in Israel. According to news site Ynet Thursday, the photo may have been taken at a social event in 2018.
The man lost both legs and an eye in an Israeli attack in 2006. According to the Geshet 12 news channel, she was wearing prosthetics.
Who is Mohammad Taif?
Little is known about the life of Muhammad Daif. According to international media, he was born in the early 1960s in the Khan Younis refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip.
In particular, he was part of a theater group called “The Returners” while studying at the University of Gaza. According to Avi Melamet, a Middle East expert at the Eisenhower Institute who spoke to the Washington Post, Mohammad Taif remained part of Hamas even after joining it, sometimes starring in propaganda videos.
He joined Hamas during the first intifada in 1987 and was arrested by Israel in 1989, Reuters reported. He spent more than a year in an Israeli prison, but returned to Gaza in 1990.

His nickname “El-Deef” means “the guest” in Arabic and refers to his tendency to frequently change hiding places. He is also known as the “Cat of Nine Lives”.
