Gwyneth Paltrow and Anne Hathaway mingled with the fashion elite as they attended the British Fashion Awards on Monday night.
Guests enjoyed champagne and canapés inside London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, where they celebrated 16 awards during the event, presented by jewelry brand Pandora.
Gwyneth, 51, and Anne, 41, were joined in their seats by Giancarlo Giammetti of fashion house Valentino and Princess Georgina Brandolini d’Adda, who has worked at both Valentino and Balmain.
Wellness expert Gwyneth wore a strapless red maxi dress with a plunging neckline from the luxury Italian fashion brand for the fundraiser.
The actress was joined at the event by her husband, Brad Falchuk, 52, who struck up a conversation with Anne while his wife spoke with Pavlos, the Crown Prince of Greece.
The awards ceremony kicked off in style, with global superstar Usher welcoming an audience of top designers, artists, creatives and tastemakers to a night that celebrates the global fashion community, asking “How does fashion make you feel?”
The evening began with METTE’s Pandora performance, followed by Cultural Innovation Award winner Sam Smith’s performance, and ended with a DJ performance by Skepta at the after party.
During the ceremony, Giancarlo accepted the Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by Gwyneth, on behalf of Valentino Garavani.
Valentino Garavani was honored for his outstanding contribution to fashion.
This was celebrated with a fashion show of 24 of the most famous red dresses against the backdrop of: “An Evening at the Opera with Valentino”, the ballet filmed last month in his hometown, Foghera.
Celebrities like Kate Moss, Amal Clooney and Gwyneth Paltrow walked the red carpet at the 2023 British Fashion Awards.
The evening, hosted by British broadcaster Maya Jama and music artist Koji Radical, celebrated 16 awards. TFA nominees and winners are voted on by an international jury of more than 1,000 industry experts.
This event serves as the BFC’s main fundraiser. Which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry through its focus on education, grants and business mentoring.
The BFC is also back to taking some gendered design awards for the first time since the pandemic, dividing the best British designers into menswear and womenswear categories.
Industry leaders such as Valentino Garavani were honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury with the Special Recognition Award, and the late Joe Caselli Hayford with the Posthumous Special Recognition Award.
Sam Smith accepted the Cultural Innovator Award as they were honored for creating blockbuster fashion moments, such as their memorable latex-clad appearance at the 2023 Brit Awards.
Speaking about Sam’s award, Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said Sam was “a true cultural innovator who fearlessly pushed the boundaries of fashion and entertainment”.
“Smith’s clear, pioneering style choices have dominated the industry in 2023, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support of UK designers.”

The British fashion industry paid tribute to Dame Vivienne Westwood and her fearless approach to design and activism, and awarded Joe Casely-Hayford a special posthumous award for his remarkable contributions to fashion and culture.
Each winner received a unique trophy designed by the designer, art director and 2022 NEW WAVE: Creative in collaboration with the British glass production company.
