U.S.A 15-year-old man has been charged with murder and remanded in pre-trial detention on Saturday following the death of an 18-year-old man overnight in Amiens from Wednesday to Thursday.

At around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, in the Saint-Ladre district of Amiens, the victim was attacked by “two bullets at close range” while sitting in the wheel of a rental car, according to a statement from Prosecutor Alexandre Di. Bosschere.

Targeted by a search warrant, the suspect went to Amiens police station on Thursday and was taken into custody, along with several of his family members.

“This young man, who is not known to be detrimental to the police or the judiciary,” exercised his right to remain “basically silent” in police custody, the prosecutor continues.

The murdered young man was already convicted when he was a minor.

“Although witnesses have noted the existence of drug trafficking, the context of the crime has not been established at this stage of the investigation,” he added. He also underscored the “currently” established connection with the gun violence in front of a college in Amiens last February and was cited by local newspapers.
