What does the Tofuli landing mean for demons
Demons are great offensive generators but they can use more ultimate talent. Having a player like Toffoli really helps that happen. NJ should be able to put him in a position to fully thrive.
In his best seasons, he’s had solid playmakers by his side and the Devils have quite a few to mix and match with. It likely means Thomas Tatar is leaving as a free agent, and while he has some strengths in the two-way, this promotion is no doubt because it gives the team three legitimate scoring streaks to count on. – Goldman
What does this deal look like for New Jersey?
The price was more than manageable for Toffoli, which should have been a hotter commodity given its potency and affordability that most teams will be able to stomach. While Sharanjovic has more potential than 2022-23 showed, his time on the ice and use of it were really limited last year.
So it made sense that NJ would be shopping for it. The fact that they were able to actively move the player they were shopping to raise their attack a notch higher is a definite win for the Demons Department. At this point, Sharangovich is playing better elsewhere, as he will likely have more playing time in a less rambunctious Devils side. – Goldman
