Will this duo leave the show alive and well?

The last hope for a miracle has left all "Suits" fans. Meghan Markle has changed the American drama to a British fairy tale.

Royal-to-be quits the show where she played paralegal Rachel Zane for 7 seasons and the reason is obvious.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Royal Wedding will take place in May 2018, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.

A farewell to her on-screen life will take place one month before the bells ring at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.  Meghan Markle’s final Suits episode will be the two-hour season 7 final on Wednesday, April 25.

But the leaving of the main actress is not the only concern that is now disturbing the showrunners.
Meghan Markle’s on-screen fiancé, Patrick J Adams, is leaving the show after seven seasons.
He did promise that episode 16, the finale of season seven, would be the one to look out for.

But will we discover there idyllic or horrible prospects for both characters?

The exact details about the season final are still top-secret.

Patrick J Adams played Mike Ross, a college dropout who winds up as the law associate and protege of Harvey Specter, in 108 Episodes of the series. And he even took the director's chair of the Aaron Korsh-created project.

Adams directed an episode in the show’s fourth season and again in its fifth and sixth seasons. As well he was honored to direct the landmark 100th episode in the current seventh season.

“This was something they were not going to let me do until the third or fourth season, when the show has really established itself,” Adams said. “If the show goes that long and I did a lot of shadowing of other directors, did my homework, they’d give me the opportunity.”

For him, it was the first experience of directing work in a big project on television as he only directed a short film before.

Maybe Adams thought like a director when he made the decision to leave the series. According to his own admission, he started thinking about leaving at the end of the first half of season six. The actor explained, that he didn't see any further development of his character.

“From a story point of view, I was a little unsure of what was left for him to do,” said Adams.

But while some roles become dull, the show must go on. USA Network announced that "Suits" will return for the eighth season. And producers have found some new star power to replace Meghan Markle in the upcoming season of the show.

Katherine Heigl, the former Grey’s Anatomy actress, will join the cast. She makes her TV comeback in Suits as Samantha Wheeler, a talented new partner at the show’s Pearson Specter Litt law firm.
Heigl seems to be in rapture over this opportunity.

“I have watched ‘Suits’ from the very beginning and feel incredibly lucky to be the newest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family,” she said.

Meghan Markle, who was paid $50,000 per episode, hardly regrets giving up the acting career.

Markle told the BBC in the interview: “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter.”
Well, we have no doubt, that she copes with a role of the royal bride no worse than with the television script.

In addition to it, if the series is threatened with losing ratings after the departure of the main star, the army of Markle's fans is only growing.

For her special affability and courtesy with people she has been already compared with Princess Diana. And this flattering similarity can open the way to the hearts of thousands and millions of people.

The show’s creator thanked his both stars for being a part of this project since its premiere in 2011.

“I would like to thank Patrick and Meghan for their extraordinary contributions over the last seven years. Not only have they been outstanding in their roles as Mike and Rachel, they are also superb human beings who will always be beloved members of the Suits family, and we wish them well in their days to come,” Korsh said.

In principle, it is pretty clear what awaits actors in the future. Markle will soon dutifully sip tea during engagements at Kensington Palace and Patrick J Adams will promote a new sci-fi film "Clara", where he played a leading role. The movie is about an astronomer who becomes obsessed with searching the cosmos for signs of life beyond Earth which leads to a shocking discovery.

But the question what will happen to their characters in "Suits" is still the hottest topic for disputes and speculation.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adams said:
"A lot of times when actors leave shows, a gun gets pulled out in a courtroom or something. Without spoiling too much, yes, I think Mike and Rachel are two characters that there has never been any question that they’re in love and that they’re meant for each other".

But do not relax, dreaming of a happy future too much!

On Wednesday, January 31, the season 7B trailer was dropped, in which Mike reveals he’s not sure what he wants.
Is he speaking about the relationship with Rachel?
The final eight episodes of the season are set to premiere on Wednesday, March 28.
