Browns WR Amari Cooper clears protocol and is scheduled to play against the Jags

BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has cleared concussion protocol, putting him in position to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cooper suffered a concussion during Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He returned to training on Friday and completed the protocol on Saturday.

Highest in Cleveland, Cooper has 50 receptions for 799 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s unclear who Cooper’s quarterback will be, as the Browns declined to name a starter between veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Cleveland waived P.J. Walker on Saturday. Walker has played in six games and started two this season, including the Browns’ 19-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

The Browns also downgraded right tackle Dwand Jones to be out with a knee injury. Jones injured his knee during Thursday’s practice.
