Biden campaign says idea of president unfit for office is 'bucket of BS'

The idea that the president is unfit for office is “a bucket of BS,” the co-chair of President Biden’s campaign said Sunday.

In recent days, Biden and his allies rushed to respond to a report by special investigator Robert Hoare, who was examining secret documents found in Biden’s private residences. NBC News' Kristen Welker pressed Biden campaign co-chair Mitch Landrieu on whether Biden's handling of classified documents was also “irresponsible,” referring to former President Trump, who stored secret documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence. .

Landrieu said the positions of classified documents related to Biden and Trump are “not even close to being the same.” Trump faces 40 charges over allegations he mishandled confidential records and tried to prevent the government from retrieving them after he left the White House.

“But that's not the most egregious thing about this report. “It's this personal attack that has called into question the president's ability and I want to talk about that very clearly because I can testify because I've been working closely with this president over the last two years,” he added, adding That he knew about Biden for 30 years.

Hoare did not recommend bringing charges against Biden, but his report still carried bad news for the Biden campaign after he described him as “an elderly man with a weak memory.” Landrieu rejected some suggestions that Biden is not fit for the job after the report was released.

“And I'm telling you, this guy's tough. He's smart. He's on his game. … When you're briefing the president, you have to do it, and you better put on your big pants. That kind of feeling that he's not ready for this job is just… The bucket of BS is so deep, your shoes will get stuck in it.”
