US-Presidential Sikorsky VH-92 is a new Marine One
In the United States tested the new Trump helicopter - a brand new Sikorsky VH-92 Marine One. The helicopter successfully landed on the lawn of the White House under the lenses of the American media.
Its technical characteristics have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that by 2020 several such aircraft will be available to the administration of the American leader.
VH-92 Marine One is designed for the president, his family and closest assistants. The helicopter should ensure the continuity of the government in unforeseen situations. In the event of any force majeure, Marine One helicopters (as any United States Marine Corps aircraft used to carry the president) call should urgently arrive at the White House and evacuate the head of state.
As early as 2019, 23 VH-92 helicopters should replace 11 VH-3D and 8 VH-60N. Of these, 21 cars will follow the president, no matter where he is, and two ninety-two will leave the Patuxent River NAS at the base of the US Navy just in case and for testing.
The interior of the VH-92 Marine One, built on the basis of the transport S-92, is similar to the interior of the luxury hotel rooms: luxurious armchairs and sofas, secure satellite communications and spaciousness. According to Drive, inside the helicopter strongly resembles the interior of Trump's personal "757".
However, the main details of this helicopter are not at all visible. The VH-92 is equipped with an AN / AAQ-24 Nemesis based Directional Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) anti-guided missile system with infrared homing heads. In addition, the helicopter will be equipped in the future with sensors that will warn of the approach of air-to-air or ground-to-air missiles.
