A Disneyland employee died after falling from a moving golf cart and hitting her head at the Anaheim theme park.
The woman has been identified as 60-year-old Bonnie Mavis Lear of Fullerton, according to Orange County Coroner spokesman Sgt. Frank Gonzalez.
Authorities responded at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 to the area of West Paul Road and Southwest Avenue at Disneyland’s Private Club 33 for a report of an accident.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that Lear had fallen from a moving golf cart and hit her head. She was taken to the hospital and died Friday from her injuries, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort, expressed his condolences and said the company is focused on supporting her family and co-workers.
“We are deeply saddened by Bonnie’s loss and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” said Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort. “We are focused on supporting her family and our staff members through this tragic event and ensuring they have the resources they need,” his statement continued.
Lear worked in membership support services at Club 33, a members-only restaurant and lounge located in the New Orleans Square area of the park.
