Biden has no plans to send troops to Ukraine, but is prepared to impose personal sanctions on Putin

“We have no intention of stationing US or NATO forces in Ukraine,” he told reporters who visited a small business in Washington, D.C., as the United States placed 8,500 troops on high alert to strengthen the Western military alliance.

However, the US president reiterated that Russia would expose itself to “significant” sanctions during the offensive, and would go as far as to personally target its president, Vladimir Putin.
