Sandlot star Marty York has confirmed that his mother was murdered in her home in California.
Sheriff’s Deputy Diana Ismail was found dead inside her home in Crescent City, California, on Thursday.
“This is the hardest post I will ever have to write,” York said in a statement.
“Last night my mother was murdered by a man she was meeting. Now there is a nationwide manhunt.
Adding: If you see this man, please call the police immediately. I can’t even understand what’s happening now, but I feel like if I find this person I will physically beat him. I pray I don’t find him because his fate will be worse than hell.
The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office on Friday in hopes of learning the whereabouts of Ishmael’s friend, Daniel James Walter.
Investigators named Walter, who had recently changed his name to Edward Patrick Davies, as the suspect in Diana’s murder. TMZ reported.
Deputies located Walter’s vehicle but have not yet tracked down the 54-year-old.
DNSO’s Sheriff Scott issued a statement after Deputy Ishmael’s death, saying, “We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Deputy Ishmael.” Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and co-workers.
Marty York is best known for his role in the 1993 classic The Sandlot.
