A new official video published by Blizzard, the developer of World of Warcraft, confirms the early success of Season of Discovery, amid a crowded field of other flavors of the game.
The Season of Discovery release is widely seen as Blizzard’s test of its long-rumored Classic+ gameplay. The seasonal experience introduces new abilities, roles, and instances, including a ten-man raid from Blackfathom Deeps.
This is just the first stage. With the level cap currently set at just 25, the plan is to progress to levels 40, 50 and eventually 60. Of course, this would only be worth it if there was enough solid evidence to confirm that people were choosing Season of Discovery instead. Other classic options.

The statistics did not stop there. The big new feature in the game is runes, and players have been able to discover 10,205,090 in total. Interestingly, only 0.09% of characters manage to collect all 12 runes available for their class.
Additionally, only 460,083 characters, or about 10%, reached the maximum level. At just 25 years old, it shouldn’t take long to reach the end, so why so few manage to do so is an interesting question. From there, only 86,135 players made it through Blackfathom Deeps, or about 1.9% of the total population.
