Warriors vs. Nuggets highlights, news and live updates

For the 76th year, NBA basketball is played on Christmas Day.

The second NBA Christmas show is a clash between the league's last two champions: the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets won their first NBA title in franchise history last season, and Nikola Jokic won Finals MVP honors in the effort. Warriors star Stephen Curry won his first Finals MVP award in 2022.

But things have changed since the announcement of this match. The Warriors are no longer the same team they were during their fourth dynasty title. Golden State will be without Draymond Green, one of the best defensive options in the league against Jokic. Of course, the Warriors still have Curry, who can never be ruled out.

This could still be a close matchup, as four of the eight matchups over the past three seasons have been decided by a single possession.

  • The Warriors led 54-53 at halftime despite a tough half from Stephen Curry. Curry didn't make his first field goal until the 3 with 2:46 left in the first half. He has four points on 1-of-5 shooting from the floor. Andrew Wiggins leads Golden State with 10 points off the bench.
