War in Ukraine: Xi Jinping Arrives in Moscow to Meet Putin (VIDEO)

I amChinese President Xi Jinping said Monday that he hoped his trip to Russia would give “new impetus” to relations with Moscow after stepping off his plane on an airport tarmac in the Russian capital.

Citing Beijing and Moscow as “good neighbors” by Russian news agencies, the Chinese leader said, “I believe the visit will be fruitful and that it will give new impetus to the healthy and stable development of Sino-Russian relations and “reliable partners.”

At a Ukraine summit in Russia this week, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss Beijing’s proposed plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which the United States accuses of fomenting the violence, the Kremlin said on Monday.

“Topics in this (Chinese) plan for Ukraine will be part of the negotiations,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. “The U.S. remains steadfast in its position to continue fueling the conflict, preventing de-escalation of hostilities, and continuing to arm Ukraine,” he added.
