Tourism: Is the sun your main criteria for your holiday? Here are the places with the most sunshine within a few hours of the flight

So, Sunweb has gathered all the useful information to help you find the sunniest places in its list. “Sunweb's latest Sun Index looked at hours of sunshine per day, average temperature, sea water temperature, UV index and average number of rainy days – from April to September – in 25 regions around the Mediterranean.”, we learn.

And we are at the top of the rankings, not in Turkey or Egypt. “Sveti Vlas in Croatia and Athopol in Bulgaria get an average of 14 hours of sunshine per day, followed by Hurghada in Egypt, Bodrum and Marmaris in Turkey with 13 and 12 hours per day respectively.”, reveals Sunweb.

Because it's not necessarily the hottest places that get a lot of sunlight. “If you're looking for a warmer climate, Egypt is the place to be. In fact, the cities of Marsa Alam (29.1 degrees) and Hurghada (28 degrees) offer the highest average temperatures around the Mediterranean Sea, immediately followed by the Turkish city of Antalya (29 degrees) and Cyprus (28 degrees). In addition, the Greek islands of Kos, Crete and Rhodes have temperatures of around 28 degrees in summer.

Sea temperature in all this? This is obviously an interesting benchmark. “Egypt is the best place. In Marsa Alam and Hurghada, the sea temperature is 27 and 26 degrees respectively.
