All rankings are great for focusing on one or more niches. But it will provide some useful information for those booking a stay soon. There are many criteria for choosing a destination, but many travelers look for only one priority: the sun. So, Sunweb has gathered all the useful information to help you find the sunniest places in its list. “Sunweb's latest Sun Index looked at hours of sunshine per day, average temperature, sea water temperature, UV index and average number of rainy days – from April to September – in 25 regions around the Mediterranean.”, we learn.

And we are at the top of the rankings, not in Turkey or Egypt. “Sveti Vlas in Croatia and Athopol in Bulgaria get an average of 14 hours of sunshine per day, followed by Hurghada in Egypt, Bodrum and Marmaris in Turkey with 13 and 12 hours per day respectively.”, reveals Sunweb.

Sunweb is increasingly positioning itself as a key tour operator for us: “We offer our customers a unique strategy in Belgium”

Because it's not necessarily the hottest places that get a lot of sunlight. “If you're looking for a warmer climate, Egypt is the place to be. In fact, the cities of Marsa Alam (29.1 degrees) and Hurghada (28 degrees) offer the highest average temperatures around the Mediterranean Sea, immediately followed by the Turkish city of Antalya (29 degrees) and Cyprus (28 degrees). In addition, the Greek islands of Kos, Crete and Rhodes have temperatures of around 28 degrees in summer.

The Greek city of Rhodes, Alanya in Turkey and Djerba in Tunisia round out the top 4 with 24 degrees each. Want to refresh yourself with refreshing water instead? You'll be like a fish out of water in the Canary Islands: with an average temperature of 22 degrees, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria offer well-deserved coolness. The sea water is very fresh (18 degrees) in Lisbon.
