The cast of ‘Downton Abbey 3’ includes Paul Giamatti, Julie Richardson and more

Focus Features and Carnival Movies are officially in production at Downton Abbey 3 With the return of key cast members and a number of new additions to the iconic franchise produced by global television phenomenon creator Julian Fellowes. Simon Curtis is directing after helming the 2022 sequel Downton Abbey: A New Age.

Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti reprises his role from the TV series as Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) brother Harold Levinson. New to the film franchise are Julie Richardson and Alessandro Nivola Dragon HouseSimon Russell Beale and Artie Vrochan. Dominic West will also reprise his role as Jay Dexter from the second film.

In addition to McGovern, other major returning actors are Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James Collier, Joan Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicholl, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, and Brendan Coyle. Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera and Douglas Reith.

At the moment, there is no information about the details of the story. The third film was written by Fellowes and produced by Gareth Neam, Fellows and Liz Trowbridge.

Fellowes’ hugely successful period drama began as a series on ITV in 2011. It went on to produce six seasons and two films. The first two films were released in 2019 and 2022, grossing $287.3 million worldwide.

Downton Abbey 3 is a Carnival Films production, with distribution by Focus Features and Universal Pictures International. Carnival Films is part of NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
