The authorities have to intervene in his farm

Paris Normandie reveals that it was a major livestock recall and health control operation carried out on March 10, 2023 in the territory of the Vatteville-la-Rue municipality in France. Involving various services of the French government, this judicial operation was placed under the operational management of the Public Prosecutor of the Judicial Court of Rouen and mobilized the veterinary services of the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection (DDPP) and the Gendarmerie. Supported by the Brigitte-Bardot Foundation.

Prior to the withdrawal of these animals, on March 7, 2023, administrative checks conducted on the farm under the technical supervision of the Animal Welfare Department revealed serious violations of animal welfare rules.

These services state that “the living and confinement conditions of the livestock on the farm do not correspond to the physiological needs of their animals (lack of irrigation, lack of quality food is notable). This lack of food intake has caused the phenomenon of competition between the animals, some of which have presented pathologies that demonstrate a clear lack of care”, published by the Seine-Maritime province As mentioned in the press release. Veterinary services were thus forced to euthanize a cow in distress and numerous carcasses were found on the farm.

However, the breeder has been duly notified since the beginning of 2020 that regular checks on the health of the herd have not progressed. The findings of March 7 are therefore subject to official reprimand to the public prosecutor.

According to information from our French colleagues from Paris Normandy, the breeder targeted by this broad action to get his animals back is one of the candidates for the TV show “L’Amour est dans le prĂ©” in 2020, the French broadcast version on M6. Locally, residents of the peninsula regularly observed cattle wandering from the farm. Before being placed with the Brigitte-Bardot Foundation’s partner breeders, the captured animals will be welcomed into one or more farms that will act as shelters.
