The singer-songwriter took it Instagram story Sharing a statement, he said: “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a broken heart to say that we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how sad I am over this. There is very little information I have other than The fact that she was so beautiful and so young.

She continued: “I will not be able to talk about this matter from the stage because I feel very sad when I try to talk about it. I want to say now that I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to take this tour to Brazil.

Swift just kicked off the international leg of her Eras Tour last week in Latin America, starting with a stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She then headed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the first night of the third night on Friday.

Although few details surrounding the cause of the fan’s death have been revealed, Swift’s statement comes on the heels of videos circulating on social media of the singer throwing water bottles to fans from the stage during a concert in Brazil. People on social media are also claiming that the stadium where the show was held banned fans from bringing water bottles amid temperatures soaring to nearly 100 degrees on Friday.

Can I get an indication that you know where they are?”
