With gaming-related movies all the rage (just look at Play-Doh . movie By Emily V Gordon, John M Choo, Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig Barbie Film and Paramount’stransformerscommercial franchise) Halloween Fans have been left without service – until now.
Spirit Halloween, the popular costume and gadget store with 1,425 locations across North America, has teamed up with Strike Back Studios, Hideout Pictures and Particular Crowd for a feature-length family movie called, you guessed it, “Spirit Halloween.”
“When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in an abandoned mall, three middle school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treat dare spend the night closed inside the store on Halloween night,” the slogan reads. “But they soon discover that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit that possesses the spooky animated characters. The kids embark on an exciting and frightening adventure in order to survive the night and avoid getting caught.”

Marla Gibbs (El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie) is also slated to star in the film directed by David Poag, marking his directorial debut. Billy Bates wrote the script.
Filming for Spirit Halloween is now complete, with production aiming for a release in October 2022.
“One of the reasons I immediately associated myself with the script is that it was so inspired by some of my favorite children’s adventure films that have come from The Goonies, Gremlins, ‘Monster Squad’ and many other great films made by Amblin Entertainment,” said Noor Ahmed, President of Strike Back Studios.
Ahmed will produce Spirit Halloween with Shannon Hutchins. Tomás’ Yanelevich, Peter Bevan, Mariana Sanjurjo and Clay Epstein are executive producers.
The production, which has a promotional partnership with Spirit Halloween, is a collaboration between Hideout Pictures (“Old Henry”) and the original Particular Crowd WarnerMedia Latin America jointly with Film Mode Entertainment (“As They Made Us”).
Strike Back Studios and Hideout Pictures also recently collaborated on “Asleep in My Palm,” starring Tim Blake Nelson, which concluded in February.
