Sources – Alabama QB promoter has recruited Julian Sain to enter the portal

Alabama freshman Julian Signe, the top-ranked quarterback in the 2024 class, intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Sources said Sain is expected to begin the transfer on Friday.

Signe is the highest-rated offensive player in the 2024 ESPN 300, going third overall and was one of the standout players in Alabama's recruiting class. Signe enrolled early at the University of Alabama, and his first day of school earlier this month coincided with the announcement of coach Nick Saban's retirement.

Sources said the reason Saine began the process of leaving Alabama was because he came to play for Saban. Since Saban has abruptly retired, Saen will explore his options.

Sayin's eventual entry into the transfer portal is one of the biggest additions this offseason. He is unanimously viewed as a five-star recruit and earned Elite 11 Finals MVP honors heading into his senior year.

The impending transfer adds to the notable defections under new coach Calen DeBoer, as the Crimson Tide has lost top returning wide receiver Isaiah Bond, freshman All-America safety Caleb Downs and seven other players since Saban's retirement.

Signe threw for 2,369 yards, 24 touchdowns and one interception as a high school senior in Carlsbad, California.

Sain chose Alabama over LSU, Ohio State and Texas out of high school. With the transfer, Saen will use his one-time transfer exemption. He is expected to attend a new school for spring training in the coming weeks.
