Samsung had silently launched the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in India at the beginning of this month. Despite being a decent contender for a good budget Android tablet, there has been little communication from the company about its product. Samsung has finally announced the Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus for the global market.

The announcement still skips important details, like global pricing and regional availability. But the tablets are coming to select markets in graphite, silver and navy blue colours. Samsung also has a Book Cover case and Slim Book Cover keyboard accessories sold separately, though pricing is still unknown.
Galaxy Tab A9
The Galaxy Tab A9 has an 8.7-inch, 60Hz LCD display with a resolution of 1340 x 800. It measures 211.0 x 124.7 x 8.0mm and weighs 332g (Wi-Fi)/333g (LTE). Samsung didn’t specify the processor in its spec sheet, but we know it’s a MediaTek Helio G99, and it comes in 4GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants, along with support for a microSD card of up to 1TB.
There is an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The battery is 5,100 mAh. The Tab A9 has Bluetooth 5.3 in 4G LTE and Wi-Fi variants. It also runs Android 13 operating system.
In India, the Galaxy Tab A9 (4GB + 64GB) is priced at Rs. 12,999 (~$156) for the Wi-Fi variant and Rs. 15,999 (~$192) for the 4G variant.
Galaxy Tab A9 Plus
The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus has an 11-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1920 x 1200. It measures 257.1 x 168.7 x 6.9mm and weighs 480g (Wi-Fi) / 491g (5G). Again, we know that the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 (SM6375), and it comes in 4GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants, as well as support for a microSD card of up to 1TB.
There is an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The battery is 7,040 mAh. The Tab A9 Plus has Bluetooth 5.1 in 5G and Wi-Fi variants. It also runs Android 13. There are quad speakers to support Dolby Atmos, in addition to support for Samsung DeX.
