Earlier this month, professional wrestling rumors indicated that Mercedes Mooney and AEW no longer had plans to work together, and that a return to WWE with the emergence of Sasha Banks seemed increasingly likely. Mercedes has been teasing her return to WWE over the past few days.
It turns out there's another big twist in this story tonight. New report from Combat choice Mooney and WWE are “no longer in active negotiations regarding a return,” Mooney says. The dialogue between the two sides was said to be “cordial”, but ultimately ended without reaching an agreement.
What's more is that one WWE source believes Mercedes will appear elsewhere “soon.” Since AEW will hold its Worlds End pay-per-view on Saturday night (December 30), New Japan Pro Wrestling has Wrestle Kingdom 18 scheduled for next week (January 4), and TNA Wrestling will return in January with Hard to Kill. There are many offers that Mercedes fans will be waiting for in the coming weeks.
