Hayward was celebrated for his many philanthropic and humanitarian endeavours. As part of the award, he received $250,000 to donate to a charity of his choice.
While Heyward was the man of honor, the 34-year-old NFL player and 13-season veteran was blown away by Harry's presence and couldn't contain his excitement as he accepted the award.
“Oh man, creepy Prince Harry! I'm in shock. This is Prince Harry!” Hayward cheered as he took the stage, while Harry couldn't help but laugh at one of the most memorable moments of the night.
Harry's appearance comes only at the NFL Awards Days after he was in London on TuesdayWhere he met briefly with his father, King Charles IIIAfter news of the king's diagnosis of cancer.
According to a sourceThe 39-year-old prince was in and out after seeing his father, who received treatment for cancer on Monday and postponed his trip to Sandringham to see his son.
“They spent about 30 minutes together as Charles was still a bit tired from treatment the day before,” a source told ET. “Prince Harry has now left the UK after only spending around 24 hours in London.”
Harry's trip to the UK was his first time back since May 2023. Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, remained at home in California. The Duke did not meet his brother, Prince William, during his visit.
Meanwhile, the NFL Honors Tournament kicked off Thursday for this year's Super Bowl LVIII weekend, which will culminate in the big game on Sunday.
