Poll: So, what’s your verdict on the Mario movie trailer?

Well there you have it folks. After much speculation, we finally got our first look at the Mario movie, now officially titled Super Mario Bros movie. For a teaser, we took a surprisingly good look at what’s in store for us April 7, 2023And, if we’re being honest, we really liked it.

Now yes, there wasn’t much Mario to see this time around – perhaps a sign that the studio is still concerned about audience reaction to the casting of Chris Pratt’s voice – but there’s still a lot to look forward to. As if there was any doubt, we know Jack Black is going to have a lot of fun with Bowser and overall Illumination seems to be doing a decent job in bringing the Mushroom Kingdom to the big screen.

There are some laughs on display – we think Toad will be Mario Party A fan favorite after this – and also a great deal of plot about what the movie will actually be – Bowser is after the stars to do…something? We’re assuming it’s not just to sparkle with all the colors of the rainbow and move really fast for a while.

We are very optimistic about the whole issue, truth be told, even after the dust has settled. If you want a little more reaction right now, be sure to check out our video producer’s live reaction, Felix, at the top of this article.

Now that you’ve had the time to absorb all of that, we want to hear what you think! Was the trailer everything you could wish for and more? Are you still quietly wary? Or maybe you thought it was absolutely stinky, reinforcing your choice that you wouldn’t see this movie under any circumstances.
