Meghan Markle wore a £135 cashmere sweater, £154 black jeans and a branded hoodie as she made a surprise appearance as an ‘intern’ in a Clevr advert

MEGHAN Markle appears to have rediscovered the high street as she donned a £135 cashmere sweater for a surprise appearance in a Clevr ad.

The Duchess of Sussex – known for her love of designer fashion – has been an investor in the California-based oat latte company since 2020 and showed off her acting skills in her latest Instagram post.

In a 30-second clip, company co-founder Hannah Mendoza can be seen walking around the building and describing how they had to “call in reinforcements” to handle the busy holiday season.

In the background, the royal mother of two, 42, can be seen packing boxes and wearing the company’s trademark hoodie.

The gray jacket — which is not available for purchase — was a partnership between Clevr and Loud Flower Art, another Santa Barbara-based company.

The oversized hoodie features a light blue illustration on the back showing the moon and sun watching a Clevr drink being poured into a cup.

Later in the video, Megan quickly lunges at the camera while fist-bumping another employee.

While carrying two bags of the brand’s Matcha Super Latte mix, the Duchess was seen wearing a light blue cashmere sweater from Cos.

The item – which costs £135 – features a ribbed neckline and cuffs.

Meghan wore this knitwear with a pair of $195 (£154) black skinny jeans from La Ligne, a fashion brand founded by former Vogue editors and based in New York.

The Duchess finished off her look with Celine ‘Triomphe’ sunglasses, which cost an additional £400.

While getting another outfit change, Meghan is seen sitting at a desk elsewhere in the video.

The former Suits actress wore the same pair of black jeans for the scene, and sipped from a $30 white mineral water bottle from Simply Modern.

At another point in the video, Megan then goes to the office refrigerator and makes sure Clevr’s thermos of latte is on full display on camera.

In this short scene, the Duchess is seen wearing a quilted jacket, believed to be by designer Moncler.

Clevr Blends posted the video on Instagram today with the caption: “Damn, you’re keeping us busy now!” Some reinforcements had to be called.

“So grateful for the overwhelming love and support this year – thanks for helping us keep the dream of latte love alive and thriving! xo”

Meghan confirmed in December 2020 that she had invested an undisclosed sum in Clevr Brands, which has a range of lattes that come in powder form.

At the time, the former senior royal used her connections to promote the company, which was founded in January 2019 and is run by CEO Hana Mendoza, by sending a basket of products to neighbor Oprah Winfrey, who shared the products online.

While the Duchess visited the company, and shared a short video of her trip on Instagram earlier this year, which included footage of herself sipping a cup of the hot stuff, she has remained fairly mum about the investment over the past three years.

She shared a glowing five-star review of the line in November. Posting a photo of herself hugging Mendoza, the former actress wrote of the group: “One of my favorite ways to start and end every day.”

Clevr is headquartered in Santa Barbara, California. Megan came across it through a tasting of its apparently super-premium coffee in 2017, when the founder was selling it in a pop-up shop before creating the home blend she now sells.

It also happens to be based near Montecito, where Harry and Meghan live.

In a statement to Fortune confirming the investment in 2019, Meghan said: “This investment supports a passionate businesswoman who prioritizes community building alongside her business.”

“I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness. I believe in her and I believe in her company.
