pop icon Mariah Carey Join the year NBC She broadcast to perform “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at the end of the event, just before Santa Claus’s sleigh arrives on 34th Street in Manhattan.
Dressed in what appears to be a crystal canopy (why not?), a bejeweled tiara (“Christmas Queen”!?), and a pink gown (new color for Christmas, we don’t make the rules!), Carey sang her signature song as dancers dressed up as they gathered soldiers around.
During the performance, a pair of gift boxes opened from either side of her to reveal her 11-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who danced alongside her to the rest of the tune.

Although Carey remains pop culture’s number one patron of Christmas cheer, the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appellate Board recently ruled that the singer-songwriter cannot claim ownership of the official title of “Queen of Christmas.”
As EW previously reported, full-time Christmas recording artist Elizabeth Chan has officially blocked Carey’s attempt to trademark the title as well as the latter’s move to trademark “Princess Christmas” and “QOC.”
Carey will next appear on a CBS TV special Merry Christmas everyone on the 20th of December.
