Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick will star together for the first time in 20 years.
The couple, who teamed up to support the New York Food Bank during the holidays, have signed on to star in the romantic drama Connescent, according to the British Daily Mail. Delivery time.
In the script written by The King of Queens creator Michael J. Whithorn, Kevin, 65, will play Stan Olszewski.
He's a smart but “chronically underachieving” security guard who meets 58-year-old Keira's Cynthia Rand after he foils a robbery attempt at her home.
Cynthia is a successful urologist married to former Watergate prosecutor Warren Rand, played by Oscar nominee Judd Hirsch, 88.
After meeting, Stan and Cynthia begin a friendship that begins with late-night texting, but quickly turns into something else entirely.
It was the film that brought the couple together for the first time.
They met while filming the 1988 film Lemon Sky. The film is based on the 1968 play of the same name.
After nine months of courtship, the couple tied the knot on September 4, 1988.
The successful Hollywood couple shares daughter Susie, 31, and son Travis, 34.
Susie is an actress who appeared in the series Narcos: Mexico.
Keira and Kevin later appeared together in the 2004 film Cavedweller and the 2004 drama The Woodsman.
Since then, Kevin directed Kyra in 2005's Loverboy, and her husband in 2022's Space Oddity.
The pair welcomed the opportunity to work together on screen again.
“We are so excited to be working together on screen again for the first time in 20 years in such a funny, poignant and authentic script,” they said in a statement.
The pair will do double duty on the project as producers.
Brittany O'Grady from The White Lotus is also joining the cast.
Principal photography has already begun on the project, which is scheduled to be shot over a quick 22 days in and around Brooklyn, New York.
