While taking a lie detector test for Vanity Fair, the “Glass Onion” star had to decide which of her former co-stars had the best on-screen kiss she’d ever had.
Janelle Monae showed photos of Matthew McConaughey, her co-star in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and Billy Crudup, with whom she starred in Almost Famous, asking who the best kisser was.
“I think Billy’s a softer kisser. Better? I wouldn’t say better. Absolutely… Absolutely just gentler. It’s a more sophisticated version of the kiss,” Hudson said. “It’s like the theatre, Stanislavsky (Crudup), and like the Longhorns (McConaughey).”

When asked to compare her kisses with McConaughey and Crudup, Hudson said Crudup was the sweeter kisser of the two.

Monáe then showed her a photo of Dane Cook, with whom she shared a kiss on 2008’s “My Best Friend’s Girl,” and asked if he compared to her other co-stars.

When it came to her character Liv in Bride Wars, Hudson said, “I don’t think Liv should be canceled. I think Liv needs to live.” Her character in the movie goes through some very questionable tactics to make sure her wedding is better than her ex-best friend’s, who she feuds with.
She was then asked about Andy Anderson’s character “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, saying rather than calling it off, “It should be granted”, explaining that “it’s brave to step into the shoes she’s put on”.
Kate Hudson doesn’t think any of her previous characters deserve to be cancelled, saying her character Andy should be rewarded.

“I actually provoked him into getting beaten up in a movie theater, but I did it for all the people who needed it, like it was necessary,” Hudson said of McConaughey’s character, Benjamin. “She’s a hero.”
In the film, Hudson’s character is an advice columnist who begins writing her guide to getting a guy in 10 days or less and sets her sights on Benjamin Perry, Played by McConaughey, who believes he can make any woman fall in love with him in 10 days or less. Unaware of each other’s personal goals, the two begin to develop true feelings for each other.

Hudson also participated in the debate about whether romantic comedies are a thing of the past or if they will return. The 1990s and early 2000s were the heyday of rom-coms, with movies like “When Harry met SallyAnd “Sleepless in Seattle,” “Bridget Jones’ Diary,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” define the genre.
