IUS President Joe Biden arrived at the US embassy in Brussels at around 9:45 pm on Wednesday with his armored car “The Beast” and long column cars. He will spend the night there. Tomorrow / Thursday, he will attend significant NATO and EU summits to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
The U.S. president landed at Mellsbrook Airport at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday. There he was received by Prime Minister Alexander de Crowe. From there he went straight to the US Embassy.
The area around the embassy is closed to traffic. The same is true for part of the pedestrian area of Parc de Bruxelles, rue Ducale and Boulevard du Regent. Upon arrival, police were mobilized to stop spectators at a distance and temporarily block traffic. To get Joe Biden to the embassy without any problems, the entire Ru de la Loi was destroyed.
