Jersey box office collection today 3: Shahid Kapoor’s movie scores a big leap in its first weekend

After many hurdles, Shahid Kapoor’s movie Jersey finally hits theaters on April 22. Unfortunately, he was affected by the madness of Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2, which is currently working wonders at the box office. However, after a mediocre opening day, Jersey picked up the pace and did well in its first weekend at the box office. Sports drama directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and also starring Mrunal Thakur.

However, on the third day, the film managed to mint Rs 5 crore, according to early estimates of trade analyst Ramesh Bala. Apparently, Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 affected Shahid’s movie numbers. Ramesh Bala tweeted, “Early Estimates for Sunday 24th April – Net All India Indie Films.. 1. #KGFChapter2 – 25 Hats 2. #Jersey – 5 Kron(sic).” Meanwhile, according to reports, the occupancy rate in Jersey in India was 24.21 per cent on Sunday, April 24.

Jersey is the new Hindi version of Nani Telugu movie of the same title. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Shahid spoke about his approach to film and character, Arjun Talwar. He said, “We all felt inspired by the movie we saw. We wanted to pass it on to a different audience. We rediscovered it. And this character has made my character in every possible way and I have complete ownership and I own it very much. But the character Nani played was their first character. So, this will still be.
