Highest scores of the night

As previously mentioned, Mraz and Gomez took top spots on the night for their dancing. Mraz and Karagac wowed with a rumba performance to Andrea Bocelli’s “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás” featuring Jennifer Lopez, while Gomez and Chmerkovskiy dazzled with Camilo Cabello’s salsa song “Don’t Go Yet”.

“Last week I felt like I was shot out of a cannon,” Mraz said during rehearsals, saying he was “ecstatic” with the results of the first show.

Karagaš noted that this week’s routine brought a new challenge for them since the style is a slower dance that leaves “a lot of room for error” in contrast to last week’s high-energy routine.

“In the first week, we set the bar high,” Mraz said. “Now there’s an expectation that we’re cool and I don’t know if I’m cool.”

In second place were “The Bachelorette” Charity Lawson and Ezra Sosa – who was filling in for Artem Chigvintsev after He tested positive for COVID-19 — and social media stars Lily Pons and Brandon Armstrong, who scored 21 points in the cha-cha and samba, respectively.

Lowest levels of the night

Spears, despite her elimination, was not the lowest-scoring celebrity of the night. The place belonged to real estate broker Mauricio Umansky, husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards, whose salsa dance with professional partner Emma Slater earned her 12 points.

Umansky said during training that he was “very disappointed” to be in the bottom two last week and that he felt “the pressure is on to deliver” or else he would get the boot.

“The first week was intense. I was really frustrated. Learning how to dance has been incredible for me now with everything I’m going through at home,” he said.

Slater told him they needed to “keep moving forward” and put their hearts and souls out there for a comeback.

In a three-way tie for place above Umansky were NFL star Adrian Peterson, Brett Stewart, “The Brady Bunch” alum Barry Williams, Peta Murgatroyd, reality star and socialite Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold all clocked 15 seconds for their dance routines.
