“Now whether or not we will be able to move it (that is the question), but we are very comfortable making the choice as well,” Balkey said. “We have to be prepared for anything in this league so to say we’re not going to shop it probably isn’t 100% right, but to say we probably will. So we’ll see what happens and if something comes our way and it makes sense for us to take action. That decision at the time.”
The question, of course, is who would be interested in trading for the #1 public pick? It seems unlikely that any team will do this, and a big reason why the quarterback class does. Trade can happen within the top five depending on which players fall as the draft moves forward, but for the #1 pick overall, the other 31 teams should be fine to let the Jaguars choose who they like.
