Riley is growing up. This brings out a whole new set of emotions in the animated sequel Inside out 2.
Pixar's sequel to the 2015 film, which followed five basic emotions embodied inside Riley's mind, will hit theaters on June 14. The film will follow the original five emotions forced to work with new emotions.
New voices include Tony Hale, who will replace Bill Hader as Fear, and Lisa Lapira, who will replace Mindy Kaling as Shit. Adèle Exarchopoulos will also join the cast as the voice of new character Ennui.
Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, with recording by Andrea Datzman, additional voice cast will join Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler), Anger (voiced by Lewis Black), Sadness (voiced by Phyllis Smith), and Fear (voiced by phonetically). Tony Hale), and Disgust (voiced by Lisa Lapera) are a new set of emotions:
- Maya Hawke voices Anxiety, a bundle of exhausted energy, worrying with a fervor that ensures Riley is prepared for every possible negative outcome.
- Envy, voiced by Ayo Edebiri, is always jealous of everything everyone else has, and is not afraid to feel sad about it.
- Ennui, voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos, couldn't care less. Bored and lethargic with an elaborate eye roll, Ennui adds the perfect amount of teenage nonchalance to Riley's character, when she feels like it.
- Awkwardness, voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, loves to lie down, which is not easy for this burly man with light pink skin.
Additionally, Kensington Tallman voices Riley Andersen, who is about to start high school, and Lillemar voices Valentina “Val” Ortiz, a high school hockey player who everyone looks up to, including Riley and her friends.
Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan reprise their roles as Riley's mother and father. Somaya Noureddine Green and Grace Lu voice Riley's best friends, and Yvette Nicole Brown voices Coach Roberts, who leads the summer hockey camp.
Inside Out 2's voice cast also includes Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, Paula Pell, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Kendall Quinn Scofield, June Squibb, Kirk Thatcher, and Young . Yes.
