Hundreds of Airbus employees fell ill after eating a Christmas meal in France – DW – 12/23/2023

FranceThe ARS health agency ARS launched an investigation after hundreds of employees worked for it Airbus Atlantic became ill due to mass food poisoning in a Christmas dinner.

The agency said that more than 700 people who attended the dinner party showed “clinical signs of vomiting or diarrhea.”

ARS did not say what was on the menu during the dinner held on December 14 at the company's offices in Montoir-de-Bretagne, near the northwestern city of Nantes.

The workers fell ill over the next two days, according to the agency, but none of them were taken to the hospital.

According to local media, workers were given a questionnaire to complete online to report their symptoms.

Some workers speculated on social media that Rocamadour cheese, made from goat's milk, may be to blame. However, no official information about the cause was immediately available.

Local media reported that the company's restaurant was busier than usual that day as employees wanted to enjoy a Christmas meal.

Airbus Atlantic is a subsidiary of the European aviation group Airbus and employs 15,000 people in five countries. The aircraft manufacturer employs 134,000 people worldwide.
