A seven-second TikTok video claiming to be a “first look at GTA 6” has gone viral, and unconfirmed rumors believe the leak comes via the son of a Rockstar developer.
It’s almost impossible to go online these days without getting slapped in the face by at least half a dozen alleged GTA 6 “leaks”, but this one was more plausible than most, which is probably why it gained traction. quickly.
Two videos were posted by the account that appears to be out of touch i_see_in_4kand both have – in the last couple of hours – shared a few exciting seconds of what the poster insists is GTA 6.
However, now, GTABase.com – a site that provides “reliable coverage” on all things Rockstar – says that “in a completely unexpected turn of events, the ‘leaked’ footage appears to have come from the son of a Rockstar Games employee.” . However, there is currently no way to verify this claim – nor of course the footage itself.

“We initially planned not to comment further, but we believe it is prudent to limit the spread of misinformation,” the website said. “There are rumors circulating about Rockstar Games removing the video – we have yet to see evidence of that.
“The evidence that the video came from someone associated with the employee in question is fairly compelling. Again, if this is true, it is extremely disappointing that this would have happened so close to the official disclosure.”
“It is possible that the photo used as evidence is not of the employee’s son, or that the source of this leak is from a third party trying to appear as such.”
We will keep you updated as this story develops.
We don’t have long to wait to see if the leak looks legitimate, of course; The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has a release date: Tuesday 5 December at 2pm UK time.
Developer Rockstar announced the news yesterday (December 1st), and the anticipation is clearly high – within seconds, the studio’s X/Twitter post was already filled with some very enthusiastic responses.
