Alana, Gigi and Bella Hadid’s older sister, made her first runway appearance at New York Fashion Week at the age of 40.
The model appeared on the runway at the Elene Velez show in a ripped beige corset-style dress, accessorized with lace gloves and white knee-high boots, on Tuesday.
She also had white mud on her arms.
While sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the big day, Alana gushed on Instagram: “Thank you @elenavelez for letting me wear your amazing creation and play with you in the mud last night.” I’m honoured. What a masterpiece.
“Thank you to your amazing team Cc: @andrewcurwen @joe.van.o (and special thanks to you @nadinematar for the perfect BTS and @hoybot, love you).”
“Thank you for making such a wild evening happen,” Eileen Velez commented.
Last month, Alana walked in the Saks Pots spring 2024 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, and days before that, she walked in the Monthey show.
“I said yes, because it was something I decided to do in my 40s – just say yes to a lot of things, and it was amazing,” she told PEOPLE of her Danish debut.
“It was tremendous.”
The co-owner of Hadid Optical Company has big aspirations.
“I think I’ve found something else that I’m really passionate about in fashion, which is exhilarating. I love doing it all over the world,” she said.
Her model siblings, Gigi, 28, and Bella, 26, have been very supportive of the fashion designer’s move into modeling.
Alana added: “We’re a very supportive family for all the things everyone does. We’re always doing a million things, and we just support each other.”
They were like: “You’re going to kill him.”
