Huge waves hit the US West Coast, where residents were washed away and a hotel flooded, officials warned Friday of the risk of drowning.
Seven to nine meter high blades are expected in several areas bordering the Pacific Ocean in California and Oregon, which are marked by extreme weather events due to a storm.
Ventura County, north of Los Angeles, was hit Thursday and several injuries were reported.
Videos show a giant wave crashing into a sea wall in downtown Ventura and other residents running over pedestrians.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a hotel was flooded and windows shattered under the force of the waves.
